Harken Health Member Site
How can we create a member only tool that gives member's information on their insurance and care that they think is important?
We successfully launched a secure Member Site in December 2015. We had 50% of our membership (35,000) registered in 2016. We continued to have updates and releases based on feedback throughout 2017.
I took on many roles as a part of a start-up health insurance and primary care company. We needed to create a secure login website for members who purchased our insurance to manage their plan and view their health information.
I led our whole company through a brainstorming activity to identify features. Then I worked with our technology team to identify requirements for our first release. I developed sitemaps that mapped out each feature and its release.
I partnered with outside vendors and consultants to manage and provide direction for designs. When designs needed to be redone or tweaked, I took on the role as UX/UI designer updating designs for faster turnaround.
I learned quickly how to be a business analyst and product owner by translating designs into requirements and then into development stories. I moderated user testing, synthesized feedback and provided design changes based on results. Myself and co-worker pushed our development team to move from waterfall to an agile development approach. I approved stories, ran production check-outs, responsible for providing the go or no go decision and spent many nights and weekends on release calls.
